Yeah, I think I'm going to go with the 21 inch cycle wheels, there's pic-a-part junkyards around here where I can get the *** ones for like ten bucks apiece. I haven't bothered with this thing in awhile, I'm kinda laid up with the sciatica right now,my first time! Penalties of age I guess
 
Is your sciatica a disc slipping and trapping a nerve, or like mine these days, the nerve being squeezed by a little muscle on the back of the pelvis?

Whatever the cause, we cannot recommend it as a form of entertainment.
 
Don't know, took me by surprise with no warning. Fell asleep watching tv got up took two steps and hit the floor. Didn't know what it was, after 2 weeks went to doc, left leg nearly dead, no reflex whatsoever Put me on Predisone. Ain't no fun.
 
Chiropractor, can fix it. Did mine, had it on the left and went to the right and down my leg. Doing good now with a little exercise and walk some..............Curt
 
Mine would disappear totally if the recommended treatment were followed, but for some unaccountable reaon, my wife refuses to let me have giggling naked Japanese masseuses walking barefoot up and down my back.

I have declined her own gracious offer to do it in old British Army "Ammo" boots.
 
laff Gosh Wiggie, She sounds very strict. I've avoided wives for that very potententiality; even the ones that aren't mine :) The boots look usefull though. Do they have them in Camden Town?

If they have them in Camden Town, they will be on the feet of people with rather specialist interests.

There are many tales of squads of soldiers in earlier times, when these were standard issue, marching on steep slopes and dissolving into chaotic sliding disorder.
 
Nice... Bet the cavalry were jealous though. The horses, not the soldiers. We now return to your regularly scheduled thread about: ENGINES! :)
 
A bung hole is where something is put into a barrel, is someone putting something into you? Just thought I'd throw that out there.
 
The forum moderators do a great job. If we get out of bounds they let us know. Other have built without pedals and the threads are still up, but people being what they are, a few members aren't going to like what others do regardless & that's their right. I'd, however, like to see you mounted on a Gravely powered classic bike without a care in the world & sporting a big smile while running down a country road on a sunny day.

I was just wondering about it, I've built plenty of pedal bikes with engines and ditching the pedals and coaster brake seems to be the next logical step in the evolution of the thing
 
On the legal issue, I want to title this thing in Pa. I'm not sure what class though, they have motorcycle, motorized pedacycle, and something called "motor driven cycle " Nobody can seem to tell me what that last one means though..It used to be years ago when you could buy an out of state title from Alabama, etc. but the custom chopper guys and the muscle car forgeries put the stops to that
 
Titling can be tricky thing. Consider acquiring a motorcycle, with a valid title, that you will then convert or modify. Otherwise getting creative with certificates of origin may be an option.
 
In Britain,we have Single Vehicle Approval which allows the registration of own build bikes in Low Power Moped, Moped or Motorcycle categories. For a small amount of bureaucracy there is a procedure that entitles a motorcycle that is tested for safety and conformity to basic rules to be used on the road.

Only Low Power requires the fitting of usable pedals, with the proviso that the device can only reach 16mph unassisted.
 
On the pedal less thing. I have built both ways. My last few builds have been with out pedals simply because I'm enjoying the use of 3spd IGHs driven on the right thru the bottom bracket. A very simple way to build.

Also my state some time back eliminated the pedal requirement to accommodate the 49cc scooters. There seems to be a safe gray zone legally in a lot of areas.

It reminds me of the ultralight thing. Seemed like 90% of the "ultralights" weren't legal but flew freely anyway. I bet the bulk of the bike builds here aren't legal either. 49cc seems to be the norm legally. A rare bike here.

Not trying to start a ruckus, just don't worry about not having pedals on the forum.
