how hard is it to replace the clutch? do you have pictures of the parts?

Notice the key slot is on top of the shaft in this illustration.

If you tried adjusting the clutch with no improvement it points to a sheared key.

yes I did turned the flower nut in 2 slots at a time and nothing. yet the small gear still turns constantly and the engine turns over when going backwards.

???? how thick should the clutch pads be when new?

I don't know the thickness,they shound be thick enough to keep the metal clutch plate off the gear.

If you see where the clutch plate has rubbed the pads are too worn.

Okay. Another ?. If a key is broken where do i get those parts? Im in Fontana, CA? Also the Ebay user i bought this kit from, for $97, has offered me a replacement engine for $45. What would you do in this situation?

Lets say a key is broken. Why would the crank gear and the engine only turn when the bike is being pushed backwards? I

If the key is sheared at a angle it could possibly catch when its pushed backwards.

Try turning the flower nut in a couple more times to see if it starts to grip, from your earlier post the clutch was way too loose.

when building these china girls I spend all day playing fit the keys in the groove, I lose my temper and walk away alot, takes me a few days to do all the keyways. always have to fit them custom one by one.

Problem solved. Friction plate was worn smooth because i didnt have the clutch adjusted properly. Replaced plate and im back on the road. Thank you
