engine does not turn over going foward.

yes I did turned the flower nut in 2 slots at a time and nothing. yet the small gear still turns constantly and the engine turns over when going backwards.
 
I don't know the thickness,they shound be thick enough to keep the metal clutch plate off the gear.
 
Okay. Another ?. If a key is broken where do i get those parts? Im in Fontana, CA? Also the Ebay user i bought this kit from, for $97, has offered me a replacement engine for $45. What would you do in this situation?
 
Try turning the flower nut in a couple more times to see if it starts to grip, from your earlier post the clutch was way too loose.
 
when building these china girls I spend all day playing fit the keys in the groove, I lose my temper and walk away alot, takes me a few days to do all the keyways. always have to fit them custom one by one.

Problem solved. Friction plate was worn smooth because i didnt have the clutch adjusted properly. Replaced plate and im back on the road. Thank you
