Drivethru discrimination...

So i went to the bank today on my MB, I shut the engine off as i've learned not everyone appreciates that "weedeater" noise. The lady at the drivup window had the gaul to tell me "next time you come here, can you go in the lobby, you aren't allowed to use the drivethrough without a motorized vehicle" So naturally I backed up a bit and started my engine and shot her a glare, they don't have a bike lock and i damn sure am not gonna leave my bike unlocked for all to steal, so i don't see why this is such a big deal.

End rant

Anyone else have similar instances of MB discrimination?

Its called a DRIVEthrough, not a RIDEthrough.
If they allow motorcycles, then you have a case.
But seriously, you still go to a bank? With the Internet, online banking, etc, I think the last time I set foot in a bank was like ten years ago.

I have hit all the fast food drive-throughs in town :)
none have ever said anything more than ,,,'that's cool' ;)
my granddaughters get a kick out of handing the $$$ over from the trailer !!!

They do allow motorcycles which is why i'm so confused. I am still in the stone ages and have to go put my check into my bank (aka too lazy to set up automatic deposit)

I was on my motor bike a couple of years ago and went through McDonald's drive through on it. The lady came over the intercom and told me they didn't allow bicycles in the drive through. I asked her if they allowed motorcycles, she said yes, I rev'd the motor and she took my order. The bank I go to for my landlady has no problem with me riding my pedal bicycle to the drive up window.

Ah yes, the 3:00 am Burger Munchies. The point in every MBer's life when eyes open and the garage door is blocked with a car. Need Burger! I was put at gun point by a guard for going to the window on my MB. I want One all the way with cheese. Never have the kids seen a MB. How could I harm them anyway? What's in the back pack, he yells! My bike lock and hope to have my dinner! I got cash! rotfl Got my burger after the manager saw me. (c)

i have had this happen on my 150cc vespa. it is not even legaly a scooter it is legaly a motor cycle in FL.
when i pulled to the window i told them i refused to leave unless they served me.
the manager came over to the window & saw the vespa then yelled @ the associate.

i also once went to an arby's the lobby was closed even though it was only 7pm.
so i went to the drive through window & they refused to serve me.
i understand if the option was available to go into the lobby but they basically said you must be a gas consumer to be a customer.

Yeah GH, that's always good policy!

I only go through a drivethru when there are no other cars. That way I can go right up to the window and order.
Waiting at the menu board for someone to take my order isn't fun when they either don't see/hear me or ignore me.

If you think thats bad, try shipping the bike by air!
I have one of those hard plastic bike cases, there was no oil or gas in the bike and they still acted like I was trying to transport a live bomb.
Luckily I was able to arrange for ground shipping right then and there, my bike caught up with me 5 days later.

I boycotted burger king for a few months because they won't serve my trike at the drive through...said "it has to be a registered motorvehicle" ...since I got the bobber I just walk it in the door with my handicap placard and order..

^^ Can't you register your bike? I did and I even have a plate.

Never driven my bike through a drive through, but I'd definitely demand a little chat with the manager if they refused to serve me in the drive through.

I've boycotted ''Burger King and the like now for 30 some years. Ma and Pop Mexican restaurants are the best. Can always get fresh Jalapeno's and all the food does not involve a can opener lol. ;)

Took my trike to DMV to have it inspected...like the form says to do...presented them the form....trkthey wouldn't do it...said "it's a bicycle with a motor, go home"

Back in the early '70's I was working at a bike shop on Georgetown Road about a mile from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway- I used to ride across town to work-

and I rode down to the track one afternoon- I think it was Quals- and they wouldn't let me in the gates on my bicycle! I couldn't believe it- especially when there were motorcycycles and mini bikes all over the grounds- some with young girls on them.
Oh well- I'M still standing.

In fact I recall one Quals day, and sitting up in the firsty turn bleachers- this guy across the track over in The Snake Pit stole somebody's motorcycle, and the cops were chasing him all over the place- you could see the whole thing from the stands- including when the cops closed in on him from the other direction. Pretty funny.

As for going through the "drive through" at the bank here's something to look for. Usually there is an ATM available also. Did you ever notice that they have all the buttons in Braille also. Soooo if blind people are allowed to drive what's their problem with a MB???

Don't bother with the hacks at the local DMV. All you have to do is print out the form, send it to the address on the form with $19, and a week or two later you get your registration and plate in the mail. No need to have it inspected.

I have always got good reactions at drive-threws. Banks burger places etc. Is kinda fun. I tried to get a pic of RusticoRay at a MickyDee's one. But usual reaction is "that's cool" or the like and or folks filling up the window to get a look.
