Custom fuel tanks

I'm working on some ideas for a custom tank. I'd wanna make one out of a propane tank. Doesn't seem like it will be too hard. I can pull the schraders, drill out the top to fill, and thread some holes for fittings. There's even threaded caps for the top.

Any other ideas? What else might make a cool DIY tank?

Cool. I'm looking for a detachable bottle type. But you're on the right track.

These look pretty cool. You could sort of make one from a propane bottle and put some fins on it and a pointy nose.

Or go with one of those old brass/copper fire extinguishers. But I like the bombs.

If you area is anything like mine, you could probably find an old 'hotdog' compressor on the side of the curb. Two good things -- would be free, and it's already got pipe thread bungs welded in. Would be easy to attach a petcock. An example...
