Clutch Problem

The clutch on my motor is not engaging the way it should. when I let out the clutch it doesn't start the motor but it still turns it doesn't lock the clutch in place. Can anybody help me?
 
Thanks but I have read that and found the problem to be either the clutch plate wasn't tight enough or the clutch pads were worn. Appreciate the comment though!
 
That is what is sounds like. He also said he fixed it, but was not clear on exactly what he did. I guess he did the "star nut thinggy".
 
Hello, directions please for a clutch that is not working properly - the plate pin does not push out. Not sure if the problem has anything to do with the cable or not. Thanks..:-||:-||
