clutch arm position

is there anyone who could tell me (hopefully with pics) what position the clutch arm should b in with the leaver [pulled in and with the lever released? i would greatly appreciate help with this. thanks

The pic on the left shows the lever inline with the motor disengaged.
And the lever at the 5 o'clockish position is the lever in engaged.

Clutch arm position alone isn't the most accurate way of determining proper setup as it's a bit inconsistent & ya really need only insure there's no slack in the cable but no real tension when the lever is released.

The clutch actuator arm is on a splined shaft, but it's not always pressed on in the same position from engine to engine - in fact I remove mine and turn it in a spline or two to help prevent it catching on my pant leg *shrug*

This is backwards. Engaged (clutch allows engine to drive sprocket) the lever will be as shown in the left photo. Conversely, when the clutch is disengaged, handlebar lever pulled in, the engine is disconnected (disengaged) from the drive.
