Hey everybody I just recently bought an engine kit and I'm in the middle of tearing it down to make sure there's nothing in the bottom...I have all the bolts out, all the nuts off, and all woodruff keys out... The case cracked apart fine, but it won't go past around a millimeter apart like something is holding it... I've tapped the case and shafts with a big screwdriver handle but it still won't go past where it is, it doesn't bind up and stop it just stops like it's hitting something...I'm not prying on anything I don't want to crack the case or mess the gasket up... Has anybody else had this problem or know what is going on... Are the bearings pressed on the shafts...... Thank you

Update... Finally got to the point to where I was like it's either going to come apart or break so while holding one side of the case I whacked the crap out of the shafts protruding from the case with a weighted rawhide mallet... That did the trick... Engine's free of debris and back together... There actually was aluminum shavings and grit stuck to the greasy spots in the case and on the bearings, I'm glad l pulled it apart... If it's a new engine you gotta clean it out.
