So I have a dilemma: I want to race a motorized bicycle in socal, but I don't have a car that can transport any of my bikes. I was thinking, what if I made a custom frame that could unbolt into several pieces for easy transport? Is this a terrible idea?

Doesn't fit with the wheels removed?

Nope, I have a shitty little mercury tracer. Also the one I want to race most is a 125cc lifan bike which wouldn't fit in anything less than a pickup truck.

I think a good solid bike rack would do the trick for you.

My bike has traveled a lot of the country this way. I use a Reese SportWing.

I have never seen a bike rack capable of supporting a 150 lb stretch cruiser, but if you have a link, I'd be thrilled.

Yes... No way to put a hitch on your car? There's a guy in my town that tows a trailer full of lawn care equipment with his 93 Civic hatch. If a Civic can have a tow hitch installed I'm sure yours can.

Putting a hitch on your shitty car could cost as much as the car. If I were you I’d rent or borrow a pickup. You could also remove the motor and use a regular bike rack.

    Are you on Facebook?
Socal racer #480 made a cheap light rack that bolts on his econobox car and holds his 60lb China girl.
I have a $80 Amazon motorcycle rack but that needs a 2" receiver hitch.
