Black rubberized Flex duct tape for mounts?

I used this all over the bike when mounting the kit, its black rubber duct tape sold for mainly for wrapping pipe leaks.
Thinking it would help with the vibrations and the engine parts to grip to the bike. Its only about 1/8" thick.
But now this guy says Never to use rubber anywhere as it will shake and crack the mounting bolts.
Should I take it apart and take it all off? Anybody have any thoughts on this.

The majority of experienced builders agree that using any kind of rubber between the engine & frame will cause problems down the road.

If the engine mounts are a little bigger than the frame tubes, you can cut a small piece of steel tube to cover the frame where the mounts will go.... this will fill the gaps & protect the frame.

I'm finding that things move around more with rubber grips not less on these bikes. Who'd have thought

For the gas tanks, I use strong 'two sided' tape under the tank & also under the mounting hardware... It keeps the tank from moving around on the frame without having to over torque the mounting bolts.

I used a piece of overhead door seal that goes along the bottom you can use it for tire liners and you can buy 18" square pieces of EPDM in different thickness

When you get the nuts tight enough crimp the threads sticking out with vice grips and the nuts won't fall off when it loosens up

The correct way to Stake a nut is to use a punch
Just punch the thread where it meets the nut once
This way the nut can still be removed easily without having to plow thru a bunch of buggered up threads that ya made by using vice grips

I'm not recommending to stake a nut. That's usually only done when a manual calls for it

If ya don't have to Stake it, use loctite instead

I’ve tried several different things to mount the fuel tank, the last couple I’ve used silicone. I mount the tank where I want it then flip the bike over on the seat and handle bars, then use my caulking gun with a tube of silicone to fill in along the area where the tank meets the top bar. I let it sit that way for a day or two to let it dry.

Better to use a punch on the 4mm spot welded studs and the 2mm ones for the CDI ?... vice grips would be too easy... The 2 stroke manual by the whizzer King at local library in sci-fi section

Whizzer has bolts... Why I like the tanks... I've welded tacs on nuts and vibration has broken them from the vibration on the HT motors... This OP will figure it out... I think you're spoiled with the smooth running 4 stroke and electric stuff...

Just run a small bead of shoe goo on the top of the bar before installing the tank. Movement problems will be solved forever.

I had that rubberized "Flex Tape" on all my mounts, took everything off cleaned off the surprising amount of goo and its WAY more solid just bare bone mount.
My gas tank for instance kept slowly slipping just parked on the kickstand. Bolted as tight as I dared.
Its much better. I'm stuck with that for now. Not taking it all apart again lol
Though I did put a 1" strip of aluminum under it to fill the gap & conform to the frame better. Will see!

I daresay a 2-stroke just sounds a little cooler than an e-bike, you have that motorcycle feel. Though if you got the bucks, you can spend as much as you want on those luxury rides lol. I've seen them go up into the thousands just at hello at Scheels and such. Seems like replacement batteries always cost a fortune too. Not that they don't have advantages. There's lots of Youtube videos comparing them.
But then again with one of those pricy E-bikes, you're also SOL and looking at a walk home plus waiting on a recharge if that battery dies on you..... tskk tskk
