I am trying to figure out what type and year this is, I know it is a Schwinn.

The serial # on Schwinn frames will tell you what year and model.

There are other sites that might be able to help, here's one I have handy: The Headbadge. The serial number should be on the bottom of your crank.

Like MBR said, punch the serial on one of the schwinn sites to see if it is a Chicago bike. If not, you have eliminated one make.
