Any Interest In A Shifter Class OR Super Moto?

Do they ever come up with new classes? Since they have some dirt track parts and run motorcycles on a Super Moto kind of a track, would anyone be interested in having a class for it? Or does it track dirt onto the road course which would not be good for the other classes?

Are there enuff bikes with shifting ability for a shifter class?

Yes, new race classes are added if there is a need for them
and enough bikes and riders.

The new 99 / 79 cc Harbor Freight class is going to be very popular.

You got it that there aren't enough shifting bikes right now but you get
to run against the single speeds now so lets see what happens on the
upcoming June 1st race. :)

Tracking dirt onto the track isn't a problem when using the Supermoto
section at Grange Motor Circuit.

We would welcome a shifter-class and we would build a bike for it!
The only rule we would add for this class is, that the shifting has to be
done by hand or be fully automatic!!!
There are quite a few bikes out there that are not single speed and
would qualify for this class!
And the off-road part would be fantastic!

Otherwise all existing rules should apply ( working pedals, bicycle tires....)!

Great idea!!!

If there's going to be a super moto class, I'd probably enter that class. I can't recall if thorns would be an issue.

At the June 1st race we are going to try out running the Supermoto dirt
section of the track.

We will play on it on Friday after 5pm and the sun doesn't set until 8pm!!!

I am thinking about letting Wild Bill and his son on their full suspension
GT LTS shifter bikes do some laps in the lunch hour as entertainment.

Anyone else with front suspension or even no suspension can try it out too.

You can see where the dirt section is in this aerial pic.
The Supermoto's normally race counter clockwise and they do run slick tires.

We are racing Clockwise.

I would rather run it after the races are over if possible so we dont break anything right before the finals.

It's up to you Bill.
Actually there probably won't be enough time to run it in the lunch hour
because there is one more class racing on June 1st making 5 races
and heats.

Also there are big plans for the end of the lunch 'hour" to celebrate
our 7th race and 2 Year Anniversary!

Anyone can play on the dirt section on Friday 31st after 5pm on any kind
of bike.
Grange has a gas blower that we can use to clean off any dirt on the
track.

11 HP water cooled Morini in a stretched and customized full suspension
aluminum mountain bike frame made by my mate SiFab.

It may be for sale, at the very least the motor and radiator.

Supermoto race my Felt Vintage iron?

You can see the bend in the fork leg so it is getting a suspension fork.

Pic taken last Sunday on the gated West Fork 7 mile twisty road to
the dam in Azusa.

Wow! I like both those bikes! Do the pedal arms clear the case on the full suspension? And the Husqvarna paint scheme is very cool!

Yes, you can pedal the Morini, I have ridden it and you have to pedal to
get it going. Excellent disc brakes and suspension.

Felt made three Vintage Iron bikes, the Huskie, Bultaco and Yamaha.
There was a pristine Bultaco Felt at the last race the Hawaii 87 bought.
