66cc won’t start

Yeah I know. Mine is at 11 right now. I’ll post a picture tomorrow when I’m getting the wiring all tucked into it’s final home. I literally chased my tail for weeks reading posts and watching YouTube videos. All say 1 o’clock which was where mine was. Flipped it and it’s running. Called gasbike today about it and they were zero help. I found you on insta the other day and if I had a truck I’d drive up with the bike. I’m in seal beach so it’s not much of a trek.

Yeah, GasBike is great when you need to buy cheap parts, but they're not mechanics (or even riders)... They're just a big warehouse with lots of good parts.

A buddy is about to do a build. He was wondering where to buy his kit. I only used gasbike due to them being linked to raw motor which was the motor in the bike when I got it. I mentioned maybe stopping in your shop and asking where to start. I have a Honda 4 stroke pressure washer motor I was thinking about throwing in a frame as well but don’t know where to start.

Here is the picture of where it is set now. It wouldn’t run at the 1 position. Just road about 2 miles. Trying to keep it half throttle for the break in period.

I'm guessing that the worker at the factory slotted it wrong (or installed the magnet inside it wrong).. because I've never known a engine to run with the magnet at reverse polarity :/

I suggest that you replace it, because with the key slot there it's probably changing the timing too much to run at it's full potential.

I put an old magnet from a lower I had running a few weeks ago at the 1 position and it wouldn’t run either. I’m thinking the crank was keyed wrong. Not sure it’s worth ripping the case apart to install a new crank to find out the whole batch was keyed different. Sucks these things don’t come with some kind of instructions. I am open to recommendations.

You should be proud of yourself Madddog. That was a tough nut to crack but you got it and factory defects do happen.

Somehow a 45 y/o shift drum worked it's way down the food chain to me that had a defect in the indexing of the 4-5 gear slot. Kept jumping out of 5th and wouldn't ya think somebody might have noticed before it got to me?

I don't know how many times I've split the cases on that bike but I'm halfway thru my 2nd tube of Yamabond over it.

Thanks Fog but I did have some help from another member of this forum that PMed me. I was too stuck on what it was supposed to be and not thinking what it could be. As a diesel mechanic by trade where I have seen situations like this many times. This one got me till I reached out to the network.
