2 stroke wont start, please help!

I just finished installing it and it just wont start. i think the spark plug might not be generating a spark. the wiring is matched correctly but i did not splice the wires so that may be the cause. the spark plug had gas on it when I pulled it out so i know thats not a problem. any other thoughts?

Is the choke lever all the way down?

it was in the position in came in, which was up. i thought it was on when up, am i wrong?

Jerry take the plug out and lower the choke lever, then pedal around to clear out the fuel in the engine, be sure the clutch is out and you hear the engine turning. After a few minutes connect the plug to the plug wire and lay the plug on the head and roll the bike with the clutch out and watch for spark at the plug as the engine rotates over. If you see fire try starting the engine without using the choke.

With the lever up the choke is closed, down it is open.

it works. i just put the choke down lol. thanks for all your replies!! well, now i just have a 4 stroke set laying around. i guess I can try and sell it on ebay
