1947 Schwinn motorized bicycle... (Fast & Loud)

Venice Motor Bikes

Custom Builder / Dealer/Los Angeles
Here's a bike that's been one of my daily riders since I sold the black 53 BTR.

This is a 1947 Schwinn DX that I built as a 'barn find' rat rod.

It has lots of rusty crusty vintage parts,
Custom aluminum gas tank,
Heavy duty wheels with a front hydraulic 185mm disc brake,
66cc reed valve motor with full race porting,
Genuine Fred Head,
Custom expansion chamber pipe,
40-T MM sprocket & hub adapter,
New Thickslick tires

This bike cruises at 40mph all day long & is my current daily rider. (^)

I have not seen a DX tank; very cool! Did you make it? Is it something available? I love early Pre and Post war Schwinns!

Yes, this custom tank in aluminum is $300... PM me if you want one.

From the seat post to the tank and expansion chamber that's one bad "A" bike !!!!

Thanks! (^)
I want to re-work the pipe a little bit so that it's a little higher & in line with the bottom of the tank... but I have to move the fuel shut off valve first.

The weather is clear, so we went for a nice long beach ride today!

I agree your 1947 Schwinn has personality to spare and was built during my birth year as well, two survivors, but my bet is on the Schwinn to be on the road much longer than the Old guy. Another great and very appealing build Norm. Rick C.

Sorry Norm I accidentally posted to your thread...Rick C.
