Nice vintage patina on this bike in unrestored condition. I think I like the unrestored bikes better than the restored ones.
 
You can see that that particular bike has a coaster brake (same as the street bikes)

However it wasn’t uncommon for the racers of that era to remove the brake in order to shave a little more weight.

Did you take the picture you posted ...or is it off the net? And if you took the photo did you talk to the owner of the Indian? And did he see your bike, and what did he think of it?

It was at the same show I was at but someone else took that particular picture. I didn't speak to this owner but I did speak to the 1917 Harley with sidecar owner. He thought it was a good idea to have a copy bike. He doesn't ride his bike anywhere. It gets pushed from the garage to a covered trailer and from the covered trailer to the bike show spot. It's good to have a bike you can actually use without worrying about ruining value.
