1911 Flying Merkel single build.

Right! Got to work on the FM the past 2 days. All 3 chains are aligned and tensioned. Bolts nuts and screws locktited. Looktook Lock. The blue goo is on em. Cables run and plumbing polished and re installed. Fake oil pump plumbed up. I'm stealing CCC's trick for no zip ties and safety wiring everything. I did wrap the cables and kill wire with Gorilla tape to spare the shrouding. Extended clutch arm has lightened the twist effort on the internal clutch by a factor if 8-10 WAY more engagement control and "pull" effort is equal to many throttles I've encountered. I hope to find out of my gas line plumbing is sealed up tomorrow. Shes almost ready to come off the "hoist" and get her pedals. I do have a pair of very nice finishing touches in store.

Well Well. Just took her for a 2 mile ride and it didnt bite me this time. Few adjustments to make and one more piece to add and shes "done" The clutch is MUCH easier to control now. Fellow on "The CABE" was making genuine FM decals and I managed to get one of his last ones. I have a MIAMI motors motor badge I'm rehabing to go on in a few days. SHES A RIDER NOW!
Thanks Pat! Your reduction drive really makes the whole thing come together. I'd hate to see it wearing a torque converter or jack shaft.
Thanks Guys. Yes once your past the tight spot in the compression stroke; with lots of effort it pedal starts on the stand well. I cant pedal this one at all in the riding position so bump starting will require a nice hill! And if Im home and starting dead cold I can use my electric hammer drill ( not in hammer mode) to spin the motor to start like an Indy car

Well. It's back on the hoist. This thing is just geared too tall. Idle gets me ~25 mph. Crack the throttle Im going too fast for my brakes or comfort level. I found a 48 tooth sprocket laying about Im having modified to fit Pat's hub adapter. That will get me 4 more teeth on the final drive. It would be nice for less clutch slipping on take off too. I also had a lump in the rear wheel. Had it checked and the wheel is perfectly true. Must be something in the tube or tire so I dismounted both and rotated to mix it up and we'll see if its gone on the next ride.

Your Merkel is SWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTT !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beyond Words Bro

Just been hanging out , now that the wife is walking and getting around better I have had some time to get back with the bikes I currently have 3 builds going on My Rollfast, 1908 Merkel and one I call the Crazy Train that I am building with spare and left over parts of all kinds. Your Merkel is SWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTT !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beyond Words Bro
