This is the first year the Whizzer was reintroduced after being absent from the marketplace for several years. The "New Whizzer" was manufactured in Taiwan and experienced problems with the engine. I bought this bike from someone who was not familiar with the above problem and could not figure out why it would not run over 15 minutes. I have invested a good deal of time and money upgrading the engine and other components. It now has 485 miles on it and will go 42/43 MPH wide open. Since these photos, I have swapped the centerstand for a rear wheel pull down stand so I can pedal start "in place". I also added a chrome speedo, Wald handlebars and chrome luggage rack. Next I will add a vintage Shimano 4 speed hub and disc brakes. I've ridden in parades and on excursions, it always gets a lot of attention and it seems everyone has a Whizzer story.
