Hello,

So I had just built a 49cc motorized bike about a week ago and was looking if it was legal to ride it on public road sidewalks, all I could find was that (electric bikes are legal if they are under 500w and do not exceed 32km/h). I have also came to these forums multiple times but couldn't find anything about bike laws in Saskatchewan. I had also contacted sgi through email and was told that any bike with a motor on it can only be used for off road on private property.

You got your answer for Saskatchewan
NO it's not legal to ride a M/B on public roads and of course no riding on sidewalks.

Check and see if you can register your M/B as a Motor Driven Cycle
With a license plate and insurance you'll be allowed to ride it on Public Roads

Unfortunately 500w and 32km an hour is the law of the land in Canada. Riding a gas powered bike on the road and your pulled over may mess up your license and insurance if you have have them. The fines and points off your license will most likely be an attention grabber.
