Gas tank slips to the left at certain RPM

I was riding around as usual the other day and felt my legs a bit wet. I looked down and saw that the gas line has detached and the gas tank was slipped off to the left. After that, i tightened the bolts a little and added old bicycle inner tube between the frame to reduce slipping. Right now, the issue still happens at a certain RPM. What do you guys do to prevent slipping?

DO NOT over tighten the tank straps the studs pull out and you have a major leak. what i do is buy stickon velcro the one side fuzzy whatever on the bar the oposing side on the tank... make sure you have clean surfaces to stick it to wash it then rubbing alcohol or a commercial prep. then stick it inplace on the velcro then use the straps and do not over tighten and double nut those and it should stay in place well....kelly

Clamp top tube with two straps and more nuts and put a piece of rubber between tank and frame in center. Don’t pull on the studs or you will develop a leak that will scrap the tank.

This is one thing I learned the hard way, take your time and add rubber spacers at the clamps to clear the curve of the top frame tube if you have to. On mine that would slip I turned the bike over on the seat and bars and used a caulking gun with silicone to fiill the area between the tank and frame, haven't had a problem since. I let the silicone cure for a couple of days.

Use a piece of inner tube under the tank. I drill a hole and use a self tapping screw through the U mount right to the frame. Gets it so I don’t have to tighten the nuts to much or it could cause leaks. Also recommended applying a healthy dose of jb welt to each stud mount point right off the bat for extra rigidly.

on my walmart bike i used jb weld like a small spot weld then painted

NO DO NOT DRILL THE FRAME!!

Doesn’t matter unless it’s steel and there is some object in the hole. IE the screw. I don’t recommend drilling aluminum though.
