Hey peoples, brand new member here, first post. Not new to forums, and I get it, it gets annoying when a new guy comes in and asks the same old questions... Trouble is I have no idea what to stick in the search box to find the info I'm after, so please have patience with me. With that said I did go looking around the site last night before i signed up and did learn a thing or two. Trouble is the things I learnt just made me have more questions.

I've picked up a brand new alloy framed 29" bike, and I'm looking to stick a motor on. I also like to go really fast no matter what I'm riding. I originally looked into these bikes about 10 years ago but never pulled the trigger, but my plans from back then were a 66cc china girl with an expansion exhaust, better carb ( I remember seeing things called boost bottles back then but looking around last night i didnt even see them mentioned so i dont even know if they are a thing anymore), sick bike parts jackshaft shift kit, and then i had some real ignant ideas like putting a 5 or 10 shot of nitrous on :D. I would very much like to follow my old idea almost to a T... excepting maybe the nitrous, depending on what you guys think

Now I've narrowed it down to 2 choices of motor, either this one, which is painted, which isn't any good for cooling afaik, but it seems to have a much better head design than my other option, which is unpainted.

So I guess the first question is which motor would you guys go for??
I'm kind of already leaning towards the black one just because it's cheaper and as I said it seems to have a better head design as far as cooling goes.

Now, I'm looking at gearing. I'm a big dude, 6'5", 280lbs, mostly muscular but i mean i called myself what i did for a reason :D and as I said I like to go fast. I live in a kind of hilly area, no everest or anything stupid, but a few large, long inclines that I would be going up every so often.
I don't mind pedalling to get going or assist. I still plan on getting a sbp kit, eventually, but I spent almost all my hobby coin on the bike, and I've got about enough left in the piggy bank to get a motor... dammit why are stupid things like rent food and bills so expensive... Would it be worth it to me to get a smaller sprocket like a 32 tooth for all them mile an hourz :D or just stick with the stocko 44tooth that comes in that black kit... The chrome/alloy/whatever kit doesnt have a tooth count that i saw. It will only be a few weeks until i pony up for the sbp kit, and probably another few weeks for it to get shipped to me here in AU, <<INSERT MOMENT OF REALIZATION HERE>> so as I write this I dont think it'd be worth the extra $20 for a small tooth. dammit. I think I answered my own question. Sometimes I have to write things down I guess. Unless someone says otherwise I think I might just throw the extra $20 back in the piggybank and get a jumpstart on the sbp kit.

Ok Now I feel like a dumbarse... the next question is would this exhaust be an appropriate expansion chamber or do I need to keep looking? I've seen better ones out there but in my searches last night I really couldnt find much in the way of better exhausts. I remember when I was looking a few years ago there were almost unlimited options on aussie ebay and all fairly cheap too - some of the 200-220$ kits even came with an expansion chamber long tube exhaust that exited near the rear hub.

As far as carby options, I honestly have no idea, I'm more of an efi kinda guy. Obviously that wont help much on a 2 stroke little banger motor so ANY suggestions you guys have would be better than what I have now which is no fking idea

Ok I've waffled on long enough and now I feel like a jackass.... Any tips/info you guys can provide me with would be muchly appreciated. or just tell me to fk off either way :D :D :D

Though I'm not offended by it... you might try using an alternate member name. No guarantee as I'm not trying to be a moderator just help you get up and posting. New members are the life blood of a good forum on any topic.

I'm aussie, we call our best friends c**ts and call people we don't like mate. We're a weird bunch :D

Also fat bastard was a character in a couple movies in the early 2000s so I dunno. If anyone else says anything I might look into changing it but I am a fat bastard and I ride a bike so... Yeah. :D

What I would do is just go on Ebay and buy a 66cc kit of some sort for about $100.00 US (about $125.00? Australian) and put it on the bike and ride it. See what works for you and what doesn't. Then you will know what you will be wanting to change, and no matter what you get you will find something you need to make different. You will trade speed for hill climbing and the other way around. What do you consider "fast" on a bicycle? Larry

Opinions vary on motor kits, vendors pricing etc. now and over the years, ask 10 of us you'll get 17 different answers.
Choose one stock 44 tooth is a good place to start...comes with most kits for a reason. If it don't work adjust in the direction you want more performance in. You qualify as a big guy so some extra grunt from the motor will also help. Expansion pipe is a good place to spend a little to get some noticeable results. I'll post a photo of a pipe & Dellorto SHA carb combo I've had good result with for the money spent, loud as heck though...but that could be a good thing? About $60. for the pipe U.S.

Second photo is with a muffler attached, along with a lot of other junk...

Oh hey, whats the big box thing hanging down from your bike?

Thanks I'm in Southwestern Indian Territory, inaccurately listed on more current cartography as "Oklahoma".

Yes the Utes fun, but I don't get it out often....to busy riding and building.

That bikes a hybrid electric front hub motor and the box contains one of the possible five packs I can utilize to power the front hub for extended touring. It's maiden hybrid equipped tour was 540 miles this Fall, covered in three days. The bikes been motorized for seven years & has close to 20,000 miles on the China girl 66cc two stroke. The original motors cases have never been opened for service & I've only done the top end one time. Absolutely bullet proof these little motors when built, maintained and ridden correctly!
