What do you guys think about my cut-up Voodoo exhaust concept?

I currently have a Voodoo exhaust on my bike and well I just don't like it. It's too easy to burn my leg as the expansion chamber sits on the right. I want to re-purpose it so it extends only to the left of my bike and sits farther back.


I want to cut the piece that connects to the engine as well as cut right where the expansion chamber starts. I will connect the two piece with flexible exhaust.

Here's the flexible exhaust I'm looking at, sold by the foot. 2.5ft should do the trick.

From a "will it run" standpoint that exhaust should work, however, expansion chambers OUGHT to be designed with a goal in mind. If you make the header that long you will not really see any performance benefits from having the voodoo exhaust and might as well just put on a muffler and call it a day. On the other hand the voodoo was more designed for show than performance anyway. If you're looking for a versatile option to get some performance and not burn the out of your leg, check out the SBP kit. That's my 2 cents.

Yes, the header tube determines the timing of an expansion chamber exhaust.

An X
chamber pushes that unbunrt exhaust back in to the cylinder for a little boost ;-}

How effective it is depends on the intake header.

I think longer adds torque and shorter helps high end. Pretty sure that was in the 2 stroke tuner's handbook. A great read if you're into performance mods!
