Yes, and I added a centrifugal clutch at the same time and had to bend both legs of the pedal crank to clear. Also the rope on the pull start lasts about 3 pulls and you have to get some quality stuff from the lawnmower shop.

I have always been using a recoil starter as I am using Briggs & Stratton engine. I had a starter rope have the outer black covering bunch up when it separated from the three inner white strands making up the cord. I got it freed up make shift til I got better cord. I just shortened the cord and pulled the outer covering taught, then tied a not in the end at the handle. I bought some cord meant for the engine specific, but just did not get it in time. I used instead some windsurf down haul lines. It is called Spectra brand. http://www.windpowerwindsurfing.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=6958 I'll hope it last a long time. There may be some reason to have a line more flexible the way the original line is made with the inner strands, but I know this stuff is used normally under much greater demand on windsurf sail down haul.
