You didn't even let it idle. Let us actually hear the idle... Hopefully you warmed up the engine before making that video? If you free revved my motor like that 1 second after starting it cold I'd smack you!
It's already warmed up just no throttle cable starts on a high idle and governs it's self.
I rev down the engine it stays at a constant high idle like a generator "with hands off the throttle."
Difference is this engine has a "static arm" with the governor spring attached to it unlike the 8HP models.
The 8HP have a side mounted control bracket....
I already was well "aware" it needs idle dropped down will have to look in the carb body and see if the screw on its side controls the throttle plate.
If not I'm pulling specs from Briggs that engine is not 3500 rpm because my 8 operates at 2750 rpm exact recommended by Briggs and GPS verified but it's also 4x louder then the 3HP.
In comparison they are two different carb designs, but when at idle the governor has the same set position pull. I really want to keep it but until there is a bike no go...
