I have a custom felt vintage iron bolt. modified for 3.0 tires. I bought a 66cc engine on craigslist and bought everything else separately on ebay. I stupidly bought an old style sbp shift kit, and now im experiencing so many problems that ive lost hope of finishing it and now just want it done!

More info:
I have:
delarto sha clone
Multi piece shift kit laser cut,
front rim brakes,
no rear brakes,
no exhaust,
home made chain tensioner,

I made a chain tensioner but its not great. with it the chain is decent but wont stay on the bike more than 20 rotations and without it it wont stay on it more than 5. i don't even care if it shifts right now i just want it to ride.
I could just mount the gear on the left side and go but id need to buy new rear mounts and a new 415 chain.

Im so close i just need help.

She looks awesome Sith! When they get frustrating, and just what I do. Let it sit until it's fun again. Hate to see ya going threw this. Know the feeling all to well.

But don't give up! I know. Easier said than done but gonna make that first ride all the sweeter! Really is a high the first time ya ride that beautiful piece of working, ridding art. Absolutely exhilarating!

Gonna be OK and even better. I promice. Don't let the speed bump win. I have faith in you and know your gonna get it done!

Welcome and looking forward to the pics of her up and running!

What is it that you need help?
Bicycle chain to rear falls off?
Which way? Inward or outward?
Firstly, I'd try to remove as many extra chain links as possible. Just enough for the chain to climb 1st gear sprocket.
Still chain jumping?
Check to see if the chain is in alignment with the rear cassette.
You could try the JumpStop from SBP, to keep the chain from falling inward.
If the chain is falling outward, bolt a larger sprocket or stainless steel disc onto your drive sprocket.
Orrr, you could make a "sprocket sandwich", using two larger sprockets or discs with your drive sprocket.

I haven't even started the engine yet. when I got it, it wasn't running. I got new everything so I hope it starts, but I can't do it yet. For one thing I need a clutch lock screw, or it'll be a hard to start, so when I pedal manually with my hands the chain is too loose and gets bunched up on the gear then falls behind it. the chain needs to lose a link but it wont reach so I might end up getting a half link. I made a chain tensioner so that it would stay on track but the bearing has a lip and it makes the chain bow out then back in before the sprocket which I think will knock it off although I haven't had a chance to try it yet.

So, we're discussing the right-side jackshaft sprocket and the big chainring it's connected to, correct?
Isn't there a chain adjustment, by moving the jackshaft a little higher? Try removing the tensioner first, then adjust the jackshaft.
Is the jackshaft perfectly square/perpendicular with the large chainring sprocket?
I'd also make completely sure that both gears are perfectly aligned with each other.
Did you check each sprocket, to make sure there were no bent teeth?

You're correct. There's no reason to start the engine, if the chain is jumping so quickly without the engine running.

I finally realized Expensive Ebay parts wasn't good enough the parts i used were not satisfactory. the rear engine mounts kept loosening even though i used much thread locker. the torque from starting the engine caused the bolts to loosen and caused the motor to change position, so the chain was never tensioned properly.

Tonight i bought a SBP deluxe shift kit (http://sickbikeparts.com/deluxe-2-stroke-hd-or-uhd-shifter-kit-ii/)
that will hopefully be better. either way it will be more compatible with other parts needed to make it work instead of having to fab everything. so as for now the bike is engineless.

(p.s I paid more for the non working Ebay Parts than im paying for SBP parts.)
