Pheeew!
That was a close one last night!
A true Cardiac Cardinal's last minute win over the Vikings.

A real ugly win, but a win none the less and along with just the Panthers, secures the Card's a playoff spot at 11-2 even if we loose the last 3 games.

Now it is just fighting for 'seeding' against those pesky Panthers.
#1 and #2 both get 1st round byes, but #1 gets home field advantage.

One more win (or a Seahawks loss) and we win the NFC West.

Now the Card's won 11 games last year too, but the Seahawks won the division because we were decimated by injury and lost in the playoffs as the Seahawks went on to the superbowl.

We still have 3 games against winning teams fighting for a playoff spot but unlike last year, we are healthy this year ;-}

GO CARDINALS!

My wife isn't happy tonight, and I'm not even a big fan but...For-crying-out-loud!!!!

What a humiliating loss. All I can think about is those thousands of Bronco fans who sat there in 30 degree weather to witness that embarrassing display of 'over confidence' and fumbling, bumbling excuse of football playing.

When you reach out to 'catch' the ball, you're supposed to 'close your hands around it', not let it fall to the ground, then stumble over it. Good grief! And please, no excuses for a 'young quaterback'. He at least got the ball out there. It was the recievers who couldn't catch a cold, let alone a football.

Tell your wife I feel for her but at least she hasn't suffered for years with it.

Hey BikeGuy Joe, your Browns won one today so it's 'Damn those SeaCocks' today denying us a division clinch for another week..

And what about those Panthers?
38-0 shutout and still undefeated.
The Card's are good but man, they are going to hard to get around to get to the Show.

Go Browns? Too little, too late.
The Browns motto?

'Maybe next year'.
Well, other than the NFC East where all 4 teams are bad and you can get to the playoffs via being the best of the worst, you don't get to the playoffs once you hit 8 losses, and the Browns did that mid-season.

Tom...
It doesn't matter where you stand to get to the playoffs, get there and it's win or go home, it's just easier if you don't have to play in the first round of elimination, even easier if you get to play them all at home.

This is the playoff picture with 3 more games to play, hence the wild card teams.

The Broncos are still in the Leaders bracket, even with loss they can still be in the wild card hunt.

If your team is not listed your season is over after 16 games even if you win you last 3 games.http://motorbicycling.com//www.pinterest.com/pin/create/extension/

Bummer for your wife Tom, that was an ugly Bronco's loss.
I was rooting for the Steeler's, I am hoping for a Super Bowl re-match.

Not as ugly as the Eagles loss at home last night, but it's tough to beat a team that scores 40 points on you like the Cardinal's did last night!

Arizona Cardinal's
NFC West
DIVISION CHAMPIONS!
12-2
Home Field Advantage
And looking for a first round bye.

Yeah, KC, She's not happy this morning. "Ugly" describes it. They have one more chance and then it's "Good night, Irene" or is that "Gracy"?

That's pushing my memory...
Had to look it up.
Burns and Allan's closing line every show for over 8 years.

They were pioneers of comedy in the days of live B&W TV.

<iframe width="854" height="480" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/k877AgQR0Ws" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

What is funny is he never said "say good night Gracie', it was always "Gracie, say good night" and she did. So, she never said "Good night Gracie".

It has evolved from to telling her shut up now, stop talking (She talked a lot), the show is over, to our generic US term for your finished, done.

I like to use "Stick a fork in (it, me, them, this) it's done".

For a the new generation, you may have your own new such terms you will use when you get old, but if you want to relate to our older generation it helps to know the classics of our generation ;-}

It's a little like the line, "Play it again, Sam". Bogie never said that in Casablanca but over the years it became the 'standard'.

Another one that that gets misquoted is, "You're gonna need a bigger boat." Most people think it's "We're gonna need a bigger boat. Which is what the Broncos are probably thinking about now.

What a game and what a spanking!

'The Cardinals lost a key defensive piece for the season when safety Tyrann Mathieu (The Honey Badger) wrecked his knee, but the defense believed they could use it as motivation – and defensive tackle Cory Redding even said the unit would continue to have Honey Badger-like performances.

Then came Sunday, when the defense did things that hadn’t been done since before Mathieu was even born.

The Cardinals had nine sacks – their largest total in a game since they had 10 against the Eagles in 1986 – and returned two fumbles for touchdowns in a 38-8 pasting of the Green Bay Packers at University of Phoenix Stadium.

“We just hunted today,” Redding said. “We had so much fun today at the ball.”

It was dominating, a fitting way for the Cardinals (13-2) to clinch a first-round playoff bye and end the faint hopes of the Packers (10-5) of catching them.

The Cards can still earn the NFC’s No. 1 seed if they beat the Seahawks (9-6) next week at home and the Panthers – who fell to 14-1 Sunday in an upset loss at Atlanta – were to lose at home
against the Buccaneers.

For a team that has won nine straight and has outscored their last two opponents by a combined score of 78-25, seeding may not matter a ton.'

See ya in the playoffs ;-}

The Falcons proved Sunday that home field does make a difference, you always want to play at home. With today's talented players and training teniques it is very hard to go undefeated. I watched both the Falcons and the Cardinals games, if Atlanta had played anywhere close to that level during the 6 game skid they too would be in the play offs

14 to zip. I'm not watching and the wife isn't happy, again. So much for "home field advantage" Greg.

I'm just glad I'm not out there. Last I looked it was 20 degrees about an hour ago. I can't imagine sitting there in the stands watching the 'Donkeys' loose and freezin' my butt off too. You'd have to be a more loyal fan than me. Good By, Superbowl!
