Moped GP May1-3 2015, Grange rcwy. CA

Can electrics run in the motorbicycle or unlimited class? The Juicer is legally a moped.
Hi Dave, there are several classes ebikes can run in on Sat March 28th at Grange.
Socal Motor Bicycle Racing's 14th event.
Several ebikers from the ES fb page say they are racing.
Sorry, I have no input on this May event.

I just spoke with JN motors one of the promoters for the Moped GP, May race at the grange.

This is the first Moped GP that is going to be run. He really stressed that it will be a fun race that will be organized professionally. He also stated that there are future dates that will include Portland and Seattle.

Race fee $5

Some quick rules:
There will be transponders issued for the races. Scoring, Lap times, and mph will be provided.

4 strokes will be welcomed. They will have a 212cc limit.

2 strokes 100cc limit.

Electrics are welcome

All motorized bicycles will have front and rear brakes. The Front brake will be disc brake required.

All motorized bicycles will have bicycle tires only.

All motorized bicycles will have catch bottles.

Motorized bicycles that do not fit in the “china limited class” will run in the unlimited moped class.

This includes morini’s, case inducted “China”, 4 strokes.

No internal gears (motorcycle)

Motorized bicycle will have cranks and pedals.

Motorized bicycle must be able to propel with engine off.

Overnight camping and reserved pit stalls available

that's great Richard but no ones going. don't forget your BVDs

i'm going. waiting on some wheels to build my minarelli v1 rocket. might not even bring my novelty stunt bicycle... :)

maybe it costs too much. 5 bucks! they must be crazy to charge that much for 3 days of racing!

I don't understand, why is no one going? Is there something not right about this event? It seems like a good chance to race bikes.

Gilbert
Hey Gilbert
Brian has made you famous again.
Will have a poster for you at the race. :)

Hey dave rust, was there a problem last time you went to their event?

Take a look at some of their sponsors:
JNmotors
Piston bikes
Sun motor bikes
Bike berry
Dumonde tech
Trail tech

So if your saying that nobody is going, your wrong because this no body will be there

gee, i thought the willow race would have been on may 2nd.
Dennis, after almost 4 years and 14 races completed it turns out
that most racers like at least 45 to 60 days between races.

Every month is too much for most of us.
That's why the second 2015 Socal Motor Bicycle Racing event is on
Sat May 30th. :)

Besides the 2 Stroke Extravaganza is on Sun May 3rd and we
don't want to miss it! :D

I really try hard not to place races on conflicting dates.

i've got less than a month to build a custom moped from scratch. i took apart my china racer and sold all my engines and parts. my speed demon "rolling chassis" is for sale on craigslist.

if i finish the bike i'll be at the gp. if not, i'll be at the extravaganza with my moto bets 50cc.

my new bike should be done by willow, and it'll have pedals. dunno if i want to drive all the way to willow, though. haven't thought that far ahead...
