The last race was a final warning to a few racers who had beers taken from
them before the April 13th heats.
If we have to lose a few racers so be it. Asking racers to not drink alcohol
from morning to about 4.30 PM is not asking a lot.
SMBR = SoCal Motor Bicycle Racing has been a very friendly and low rule
organization and will continue to be so. The spirit of the races is that it is
a Fun event but basic safety rules will be enforced for the good of all and
to ensure that SoCal Motor Bicycle Racing grows and flourishes with a
continuing record of no serious injuries.
We have 40 days to the June 1st race which is our 7th race and 2 year
anniversary.
There will be a full set of SoCal Motor Bicycle Racing rules posted very soon
and every participant will be issued a copy at the gate when you sign in.
Also the rules will be posted on the notice board at Grange Motor Circuit for
spectators who want to start racing.
A temporary SoCal Motor Bicycle Racing website will be at:

ALCOHOL
In the interest of the safety of all members and their crews, and spectators
alcohol consumption is not recommended at SMBR events prior to, or during a race.
Alcohol consumption is not permitted by any rider during the race.
Alcohol can be consumed by non-participants in spectator areas only and
not in the pit area.
At Grange Motor Circuit that would be outside the gate as there is no
separate fenced pit area and no way to enforce the alcohol rules.
This is per our insurance rules and Grange Motor Circuit rules.
Alcohol can be consumed in the pits after the event is over.
A SMBR racing event is officially over AFTER the last race of the day and when
the Race Director or Announcer, announces that the event has concluded.
No riding on the track will be allowed after the last race until the Trophy and
Prize Ceremony has concluded.
PLEASE SHOW UP PROMPTLY for the Prize and Trophy Ceremony which will be
1/2 hour after the last race, Thanks.
Any racers or new riders wanting to get some track time after that must get
a pass from the race director and you can not have been consuming alcohol.
If any racer or crew-member is found to be intoxicated they will be asked to leave
the pit area and possibly the racing venue and all fees paid will be forfeit.
If the rider or team member violates this rule a 2nd time, the rider and/or team will
be not allowed to race and only attend as spectators.
SMBR takes safety very seriously and will not compromise the safety of the
riders and/or their families and spectators.
The same rules applies for ANY ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE.
MEDICATION
If for ANY reason, a rider is taking any type of medication which may impair their
reflexes or judgement in any possible way, they must notify race direction.
A mandatory examination of the rider to be performed by on site EMT may be
requested by race direction to test if the rider is fit and alert enough to race.
IF ANYONE IS DISCOVERED TO BE RIDING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ANY
SUBSTANCE ILLEGAL OR OTHERWISE WHICH MAY IMPAIR THEIR RIDING,
THEY WILL BE WITHDRAWN FROM THE RACE EVENT.
Race direction will decide if the rider will be suspended or banned from racing for
that day or permanently.
All fees paid will be forfeit and each situation will be handled on a case by case basis.
