Neil, you posted that you are going to have a class for the 79cc &99cc harbor freight engines. where does the gx120 fall into this?
My thoughts are a GX120 can be built to produce up to 15hp quite easily, what's the max you can squeeze out of a HF79 or 99cc engine with nearly no hop-up parts available? My 99cc HF is less than 4hp and a stock GX120 is rated as 4hp. Hmmmm.Neil, you posted that you are going to have a class for the 79cc &99cc harbor freight engines. where does the gx120 fall into this?
The Midrange class will have a sub class of the 79 cc / 99 cc HF spec class.Neil, you posted that you are going to have a class for the 79cc &99cc harbor freight engines. where does the gx120 fall into this?
I think it time to get back on track , what can WE do to make this work . Do you want a association ? DanI've been to 3 races and got to ride in 2,this is a great sport I can do and am interested in making it last, it seems that to keep it fair and fun we need to step up and form an association that can draw up a set of rules and guidlines that make this a real sport or it might just go away,Neil has done a great job but it's too big for just him.Maybe if we got our heads together we could have more venues, workshops, news letters, safety standards and make this a real thing. When I was at this last race there are some deadicated guys with resorces who want this thing to work.Any way no one guy can make this happen it will take the kind of guys I saw at the race Later Bob#85
Huh? What is your point? What were the concerns? Why not discuss the issues that are bothering you? Later scotto- ?Again this is my point,"we" can make an association of like minded people to make motorized bike racing a real sport. Magrider is right, that is what it's for. I don't want this sport to be dictated by the whims of one man, I don't know if others read the posts leading up to the last race about classes, bike specs.or "this may be my last race"
I believe the association MUST be separate from the promoter because one has the good of all in mind and one has a living to make. I can't do it alone.
Please no more posts in this thread about how great the last race was. Their were some concerns I won't get into on this thread. Later Bob
It's all under control thank you, with the last race as a final warning to a fewTheir were some concerns I won't get into on this thread. Later Bob
Cool, what kind of help are you offering?I agree 1oo% and will help any way I can ,let me know. Thanks for a great race. !!!.
If you want to take the load off my back I only ask for a very fewgreat idea bob, neil and baird can attest to the hardships they go through to organize these wonderful races that are taken for granted by many of us. hopefully this is the first step of taking the load off one or two mens back's. and better things for all the racers in the future. dennis
Send me an email at [email protected] if you want to help. This is like a microcosm of the old dry lake racings days! That became the SCTA! Too cool.
Dig the idea. I want to help too.
this thread, like every other racing thread on this forum, has veered off topic and became another place for people to publicly bash each other.
i've edited my posts because i don't want anything to do with it anymore. my original intention was to offer my help if anyone wants to do something new to further advance the racing aspect of our little hobby. and that offer still stands.
i would also be just as happy to build my bikes and ride them without getting involved in the politics. as i stated before, if nothing changes, we should all just shut up and deal with what we got.
sorry if you think i'm here to talk about myself. i can see where you're coming from, and i wish i would've let it go sooner, as nothing good ever comes from these personal battles.
neil, i'm sorry. the conversation i had with dave and jim rust led me to believe that you were selling the parts given to you for the races. i misunderstood, and i was wrong.
i never wanted to become your nemisis. i, like many other people, get upset with a lot of your decisions regarding your races. but the bottom line, is you're the one organizing them. if we want to keep racing them, we need to accept your decisions and live with them.
i've finally realized that there's nothing i can do to change who you are, so i'm truly sorry for all the trouble i've caused you. it got us both nowhere, and after years of this, we're still arguing about the same old things.
we can stop that right now, if you want. we'd both be better off if we just let our differences go and put it all behind us.
all i ever wanted to do is build cool bikes and race them with my friends, and our petty bickering takes all the fun out of it. i'd like to get back to the time when my only battles were on the track, and ended when the race was over.
We already have an association, it's called SoCal Motor Bicycle Racing.I think it time to get back on track , what can WE do to make this work . Do you want a association ? Dan
Yes, I am the only race promoter but I represent the wishes of the vastAs it stands now there is only one race promoter therefore he is the race association..
OK, to address the this will be my last race hissy fit.Again this is my point,"we" can make an association of like minded people to make motorized bike racing a real sport. Magrider is right, that is what it's for.

A living???I believe the association MUST be separate from the promoter because one has the good of all in mind and one has a living to make.
