I am going to go with the cheaper of the two. It is almost the perfect length and threadless are easily trimmed. My only concern is that the stock one for the triple tree fork is one piece with a slightly (1/16") wider base. The ones you linked looks like a shim is used to get the extra width. fingers crossed...Or this one

I'm assuming the Alloy is better than the CroMo???
I am in the same boat, but first I net to figure out the frames headset. The parts are spread out on my bench and there is at least one I can't figure out where it goes...GasX....I got my new steerer tube today. It's the cheaper of the two links I posted. Fits like a champ! Just need to cut it to size.
