Attaching sprocket to rear drum question

Looking for some advice before moving forward with this thought. This is what I would like to do with this rear Worksman drum.
In order to attach the 45 tooth sprocket to the drum I would need to drill six holes in the aluminum and then attach directly to the drum with machine bolts. I'm concerned about the strength of the drum, will it hold up to the torque of the 2 stroke engine? Do I need to use any kind of spacers so the sprocket does not sit directly against the spokes? The way the sprocket is currently sitting on the drum seems to line up best with the motor and does not interfere with the brake arm. Any help / thoughts would be great.

Pat's Sportsman adapter does not fit my hub. I think he said his is 130 or 135mm and he thinks mine is 110mm. Is there a rag joint that will fit this hub?

Ron,

Thanks for the links and the info. I'v looked at the jackshaft kits and might use it as a last resort. Manic Mechanic looks like my best option for what I am looking to do. Guess I need to pick up a digital caliper first and get an exact measurement of this hub and go from there. I have been reviewing Pat's (Sportsmanflyer) hub adapter on his rear drum and it looks like he also drilled and tapped the flange on his hub to secure the sprocket/adapter. Hi Cat341,
I have a few different sprocket systems. I see you have discovered the moped sprocket that would fit on your Worksman drum hub if it had the mounting bolt holes, but it does not. My drum hubs are almost identical to the Worksman hub, but mine have the mounting holes and are spaced for 135mm frame width. If your running a two stroke China engine your easiest solution is to run a coaster brake hub and a sprocket adapter.

Decided to go with your suggestion Pat, Worksman coaster brake 4136A ordered with Shimano CB hub. Was considering making a trip to Worksman factory but don't have the time this week. UPS will have to do this time.
