So I hear the fuel valve are trash on our kits, and I want to order a new one. I need new fuel line anyway.

Sickbikeparts has one for 10 bucks, and it looks pretty good.

Thatsdax has one for 4 bucks, and it looks the same as the one I have now but it says "New Style Fuel Valve". Which one should i get?

Also, thatsdax is selling a muffler for 20 bucks, called a "Chrome High Performance High Flow Exhaust". I broke my chrome muffler and got a black one, but I feel its much more restrictive. Should I just get this one?

Ok, i will get the sickbikeparts fuel valve. To save on shipping, can I get fuel line at home depot or something. Also, My clutch pin broke on the handlebar, I have all the parts except the bottom piece, any way to fix it without getting a new one? I'm not going to get a expansion chamber, because I hear they get really loud. The bike is loud enough

You can get fuel line from the lawnmower section of Home Depot, Lowes, ect. or from an auto parts store.

You are missing the bottom piece on the clutch lever?
Which bottom?
The bottom of the lock pin or the lever pivot pin?
The bottom half of the lever perch?
I am guessing that it is the bottom half of the perch. The kit lever perches are known to snap in half. They are not repairable.
The better ones available from vendors are hinged on the bottom.

Hmm. Sorry for not being specific. It is the button that you push in to lock the clutch so you can pedal freely. The bottom of the lock pin.

You can drill it, use a 1/16" bit and install a 1/16" cotter pin. I've repaired a couple this way when the little snap ring that comes with it pops off.
While you're doing that get a 3/32" rubber 'O' ring and slip it over the washer where the cotter pin will go. The rubber will cushion and quiet the 'snap' when you release the clutch lock. Takes some of the shock off the pin.
Good luck.

The SBP fuel valve is great. I got one of the DAX mufflers and my engine did not like it. The best I can guess is that these motors need a certain amount of back pressure. The internal configuration of the DAX muffler is verry different from the stock one. I had no problems with the black stock one I just liked the chrome finish. When I installed the DAX muffler I lost significant hill climbing power. It did run a little better wide open on flat ground. So much to the point that the motor did not want to spin down when pulling the clutch. After about 100 miles of adjusting various things, I put the old muffler back on. The power came right back and the revving went back to normal after pulling in the clutch. I'm not saying the DAX muffler is bad. Just that my engine did not want to climb hills while it was on.

My stock muffler is very similar to the one in your pic. The internals on the DAX are nothing like that. I don't know if it was more restrictive or less. I'm guessing less restrictive simply because the motor took longer to spin down. I've been told that with too little back pressure the motors will easily over spin causing damage. Don't know if that's true. DAX even promoted the muffler as a high flow muffler. I would show a pic of it but every time I try to post one I'm notified that it's too large. I'll try one later on my lowest camera setting.

Napa sells a nice replacement universal fuel valve for older mowers that fits our tanks. I have put them on several HT tanks. Very good quality, 1/8"male pipe threads with a fine screen tube on top and a 90deg barbed outlet Less than $10 and get the hose there too. Save that shipping money.
