has anyone tried running your 4stroke w/a clutch to jackshaft straight linkage as opposed to a cvt?
...and, if so, hows that running for you?
I'm thinking I like the simplicity of the setup- not to mention significant savings!

i am currently trying your idea myself in a diy custom build with strimmer engine, please keep post if it works,I will try to post picture when finished building.xx.

It depends on what 4 stroke you plan to run, some of the small 50cc run up to 8,000 rpm's and then you need to put the clutch on the jack shaft like the 4G kits. Other then that you can put a regular clutch on the engine and run to a jack shaft then back to the wheel. That is usually the best because you can change the pullys or sprokets that way to change ratio. In fact you don't even need a clutch you can do a belt tightener like lawn mowers have............Curt
