That's good to know, Bill. I was planning on painting my exhaust pipe (when I get it). My bike is black...all of it. I wouldn't want to contrast it with chrome or any other colors.

Yeah bobby, I bought that tank. I saw it on another member's bike who had the same frame as I have, and it looked awesome.

It's nothing like the cheap kit tanks, this one actually straddles the top tube making it look more like a real motorcycle setup. Have you investigated this item? Have you seen it on other member's bikes? What can your bottle of tequilla do?

Dan, I got it so you & I could ride to Tucson together. Pack a lunch.
.wee.

BTW: This seller comes down, go for "Best Offer." That, and I had a coupon so I paid $20 less than I was expecting. Bought me some lunch today...mmm.

Watching some of Dave's vids, keep thinking AZ is MB heaven. Keep trying to get Carol to move down south for the winters. Must be nice!

Hehe, rode in to a snow drift today. Got stuck. As I got off, I sank in to the snow. The bike stayed standing and running. Was hysterical. HFs ride real high on the frame and the snow was right up to the intake. Which from the hole I was standing in was almost chest high. I couldn't see in the cars passing but thought alls they could see was the top of my helmet and a Motor Bike with it's engine running standing there by it self. Sort of a cross between "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" (headless horseman) and "Wheres Waldo" snork

Now Thats funny! If you had a video it would be priceless!!!

Whenever you and Carol decide to come down, I can probably help you. I'm not just an MBer, I'm also a Realtor.

Snow? What's that?

At first glance, me too Bobby. The duck tail mounting at the rear base is usually telling of a better tank. I bought one of the close out Pougsi (sp) tanks when I saw it had the same. LOL its about dunno, 4 to 6 gals. Dwarfs every thing else on my bikes. But is uber cool.

What part of NY ya from? I lived in the Bronx (and lost my very first fight, snork) as a lil kid and spent about 6 yrs up in the Catskills. Man, that is some pretty country. Lived below Katerskill falls.

Any way, great to meet ya

AZ has some snowy places, but also has a lot of hot dry desert, and lots of cool bike and car culture.

Glad you got soft snow, and not one of those hard blocks of "snow" shoveled off the roadway by plows. I almost hit a snowplow truck one year (In Denver CO) because it moved left at the last minute for a buried car.

Hi Happy, it snowed here briefly about two days ago.

It was really light and melted right away. Everyone at work ran out into the parking lot because it's such an unusual phenomenon in Phoenix.

It snows up north here in AZ every winter that's for sure.

i just painted the crank arms that come with the SBP HD shift kit flat black. it think they are aluminum? and i used rust-oleum all-surface paint. i wire brushed them, and gave them 2 coats. its not a pro paint job. but its cheep and i think it looks nice.:)

They came up nice..they will chip and scratch easily though, alumnium needs an etch primer prior to painting. Powder coating would of been a better option for this and cost little more than the rust-oleum paint you used.

i know it wont last long. but i rebuild my bike in the winters. so ill just re paint once a year if need be. and the primer would be a good idea. ill note that for next time. thanx:)

Powdercoat!

I got my bare frame and fork powdercoated for $35. It would have cost me that just for enough rattle can paint and primer.
