When I hauled oil to the oilfield "chain oil" was pretty much any leftover oils and even diesel fuel mixed in it but the main problem with using oil is the dirt magnet it is. I like motorkote because it bonds to the metal and lasts a very long time. It is a bit spendy but a $25 quart will treat 2 cars and a few cap fulls would lube everything on a MB. Cables, chains & a little in the fuel on a 2 stroke or in the oil of a 4 stroker after breaking you will notice a huge difference in the noise level and a bit of a power gain esp. on the hills.
