But in part to your, this thread. I dropped off a very entitled, "me, me" college kid in Manhattan NY. I drove her from Hartford (Trinity College) to a NYC college housing thing in the city. (NYC) 3 hrs. She was a sorta social butterfly in the ivy league world. Very nice but 21 yrs old and could afford a Uber for 3 hrs. We stopped for cigs and again for rest-room break. $123 to me for 3 hrs of work with out tip. There was no tip. snork.
But on way home, I as a ct Uber driver can not pick up folks in NYC, I see a lil kid hitch hiking in the Bronx. I am the only white guy around. Bad area and cabs avoid black folks cause it's rumored black folks don't tip.
I think any one leaving lil ones out and unsafe go to warmer places at the gates. (just wrong to leave lil ones out or unsafe. don't care who ya are. just wrong)
So I swing around the block and pull over. I ask You guys really hitch hicking?" A woman answered yes so I say ca'mon".
2 woman and I lost count of how many kids pile in but it was a bunch. They wanna go 5 miles but is the Bronx on a Saturday night. Took 20 minutes. The kids had me rolling. To dang funny. The 2 woman kept yelling at 'em to keep the windows up. (Not a great area) But they were so dang cute! Just kids being kids.
I get to where they need to be and the woman sitting up front with me asks "how much" I tell her it was meant to be a gift but I need gas. It was 5 miles so $4.80.
Her eyes went wide and said "God bless you, Boy" And hands me a bill. I think it's a $5. Get to the gas station and it's a $10.
So not only do Black folks tip, They tip really well. lol.
As the kids emptied out, and man, there was a bunch! Each one said thanks and good night. So dang cute. Silly lil people.
My point is or why I bored ya all with this. Hearing doing good helps others to try to do good.
