Ive run 30w non detergent mixed at 25:1 in these little china girl 2 smokers and ot ran fine, but there was a problem I discovered a while back when I looked on tje gas tank of both bikes I had run that way just as an experiment to see how long rhey would last.
I had the bikes stored away in shed fpr several months snd found that both fuel tank s are now ruined from massive amount of rust and corrosion... it is ugly...
Yep othe bikes stored right beside them that has a mix of Opti2 oil in the gas had percectly clean tanks and the fuel still smelts fresh and those bikes staryed eight up.
One of those bikes is still my strongest and fastest and has never seen anything but Opti2 mixed at 100:1 never fouled a plug and I have run this bike at time for 10+ miles WOT non stop at 40+mph
so I say all this to say high quality 2 smoker oil is beat in them as Greg etc.... has said here and yes other oils will work OK especially if your not doing mamy mules @WOT but and oil designed for a 4 stroke will not offer the same protection on all levels as an oil designed to be uses in the 2 smokers.
I say run what you will and what you like... thats what I do, but also know that there is factual data to back up the fact that 2 smoker oil is best in 2 smokers, just how it is.
Heck Im gonna start running my Opti2 @ 40:1 or 50:1 in my newer engines just to give them even more protection than I habe in the past, but I dont plan at this point personally to use 4 stroke oil iny china Girls anymore after ruining two gas tank with it from serious corrosion.
I'll end with saying I bet on a lean run condition or even fault chinalume piston as the reason for the failure.
Do as Greg suggests and clean the snot out of the bottom end, replace top and and as soon as you get it running do a plug chop to make sure you arent to learn on fuel in the high rev's.
