Why do old posts keep popping up in topics?

Possibly just seems so? The roll of TP as you unravel it from the roll, has a smaller outer diameter as it is used up.
Duh!

But then this means when you pull the paper off the roll, it will spin faster. Geometry or something involved there, I guess?

Faster spinning does not equate to how many square sheets taken off the roll per length of sheets retrieved?

Can you spare just one .....
