Wheel truing - GEBE - with drive ring or no

Hey guys,

I got a used GEBE kit and as the subject implies, I'm going to true the rear wheel. Should I get it true before I put the drive ring on or after? I figure that with the extra weight it might be better to do it with the drive ring on but I'm not sure.

I'd do both, true it and check it after. If you didn't have to wrestle with it getting the ring on, it shouldn't change it.
