What is the RPM range for the Shyhawk 66cc engine. Im trying to make a tuned pipe for more low end power but i need to know what this engine puts out is it 5000 at top rpm or 9000 i have no idea please if you know or if you have found a thread that has the answer in it let me know. A formula would also be nice to use i have a 39tooth sprocket on a 26in. wheel maybe one of you know how to work backwards form there.

mines rated at 5500 rpm so im assuming all of them are the same, im 260 lbs and my max speed is 34mph with a 44 tooth sprocket , all stock parts no mods

HI,

I have a Tiny Tach on my bike and have had the Dax 66 CC to 6400 RPM (only BRIEFLY since I didn't like the rattly noises coming from the engine).

I have seen factory literature and cannot remember for sure BUT I think they rate max power of the engine at 6000 RPM (I'll try looking for the literature when I get a chance).

Hope this helps.

Andrew

Recently I've gotten 9,733 rpm at 41 mph, 44 tooth gear 10t front on a 26" beach cruiser. It stops revving there like it's hit a brick wall. No vibrations after I converted to reed valve and cut a giant opening on the intake side of the piston skirt. I've done every conceivable mod porting wise. Run a milled stock head, stuffed case and keihin 20mm carb with a very large expansion chamber.
