give a real reason to have a "boost bottle"
we've known for years that there's ice on mars, but this proves that a certain amount of it has to be water-ice, not Dry-Ice. which basically means all colony plans just got to drop about half of the heaviest, and most likely to mess up the colony if it goes wrong, equipment from the theoretical mission. this in turn means that a huge electrical draw gets to not exist, which means the generators can be smaller, which means the resources to run them can be less.
basically, they were having lots of trouble imagining how to motorize their bike with less than four horsepower, because the frame was so heavy. and the only motors that exist weigh so much more than the smaller one it runs a loss (lets imagine) and some guy comes around and says "did you know your frame tubes can be hollow?"
and suddenly the whole world of possibilities opens up...
