Unfortunately when I was learning to fly I was a terrible pilot and my instructor was very relieved when I gave up.

My guess would be the guy wore the same goggles no matter which vehicle he was using. But he might need a little left rudder trim.

US helicopters require some left pedal on acceleration. Those French choppers require right pedal. (They are so smart that they spin the main rotor in the opposite direction).
US airplanes require some right rubber on acceleration. Fortunately, I have no experience with French airplanes.
Jets require no rudder. Put your feet on the dash.
