V Brakes

ok I have the front finally down.
Now for the rears, the bike came with V's F&R. the front is now disc, the rears
i'd like to keep the V's (from what I have read) it's not a bad choice, but not the best, that aside which are the better shoes (pads)?
I have come across these brand names so far;

I have read the reviews but needed some more reliable input that I know i'd find here.

I've used the kool stop salmon pads. Noisy but effective. I haven't tried anything else besides the stock rubber my cheapo bike came with which were junk and stopped me twice.. I bought the set that came with the duel compound and they were good too then replaced with the harder salmon pads

I like the fact that Jagwire mentioned their compound they use (British Standard).
a lot more reviews on the Kool Stop products.
they are not greatly expensive, but I think one day I will try a few different brands and compare when I get this build done.
had a friend once say "It matters, it's all in the components".
