Too crazy even for The Maniac!

I think I saw that guy on Discovery channel some time last year, and posted about it.. ah, here's the link: http://www.maddoxjets.com/

My wife saw 'that smile' on my face, took one look over my shoulder to see what I was looking at and said "NO". ;)

Had to make a new entry on the Bucket list.
Passing a parked cop on that bike doing 148 mph, and showing up in court to plead the ticket.
Judge: "You passed this officer doing 148 mph?"
Me: "Yes sir."
Judge: "On a bicycle...?"
Me: "Yes sir."
Judge: "Baliff, take this officer downstairs and administer a drug test."

:)

I ran into this a long time ago. It's a better proposition for a bike. There have been many actually built. Smaller than the pulse jet it's called a pressure jet engine. It's throttleable and runs on propane. Different motors from 15 lbs thrust to 130 lbs thrust and those numbers can be tweaked by increasing the tank pressurization. A good sheet metal welder could build one from a kit, someone who welds up stainless steel kitchens for a living could do it easily :)

Much as I like speed, you could not pay me enough to ride a bicycle powered by a jet engine of ANY kind.
I may be a Maniac but I'm not that insane.
I don't want to find out how long it takes to stop bouncing when you crash a bicycle doing triple digit speed.
Maybe 20 years ago...
But probably not then either.
