Im gonna be running 26x 2.125 wheels . Im wondering if there is a specially produced tire for motorized bicycles. im thinking our motorized bicycle tired take much more of a beating than normal tires for normal bikes. Im not looking to pay a whole lot but price isnt a huge issue. Id like whitewalls or choice of color for tires but whatever i can get basically that is great for bikes with motors on them. My terrain is like most others i mean we have our potholes and a bit of gravel to drive through . . . . . I appreciate any and all help i can get.. thanks
 
I will only add that I ran wmart Bell tires on one bike for over a thousand miles with no problems at all, so unless you are hefty, and/or plan on running your bike really hard, any good bike tire will be sufficient.
 
the rims i ordered were worksman 26 11 gauge spokes. The ttires that came with my bike were 26x 2.125 im just wondering if a fat frank 26x 2.35 will work? is that second number the hieght of the tire? that seems to me what it is when i take my calipers to it the measurement seems to have to be the height. The fat frank is .225 larger than the stock tire and may rub the fender or even the middle if the front fork? not sure my bike is completely tore down right now for a paint job so i cannot tell
 
Yes, the 2nd number of the tire size is the diameter or height of the tire. Typically a taller tire will also be wider.
 
Cyclops tires have had good reports from some of the Ebikers on another forum. There was a thread where a teacher commuted 50mi(or so) a day and his experiences with tires. He got the best wear from this tire. I believe the are available in 26x2.4.
 
Ok i got my worksman wheels in(shouldnt have ordered factory direct so far all i can see is 1 bent spoke , have not tried to put a tire on it yet.) . I ordered some fatfranks and a thornproof tube. Now i need the rubber piece that covers the spoke nuts on the rim.....

Before doing anything I took the hubs apart and put some grease in as they were dry.
Then after reassembling the hubs I checked each spoke nut to make sure there where no metal barbs sticking up.
Then I installed two tire rim rubber strips on each rim.
Then I taped each rim with masking tape to make sure the rubber strips couldn't move.
Then I installed the tires.
Then I installed the Huffy anti puncture bands in each tire.
Then I installed the inner tubes and inflated slowly.
I chose to put the Kevlar tire on just the back wheel, that way I have backups for both wheels.
I know I went to the extreme kinda but better safe than sorry right?

By the way, after over 6 tanks of gas I still haven't rubbed off the little nibs. I'm impressed with the tires.

I think you did the smart thing. I bought a thorn proof inner tube with my kevlar fat franks schwalbe. I still need to get the rubber that goes around the rim before the inner tube . But i dont wanna have to wait for mail i wanna just go to a local bike shop. I love these bikes because you can buy nice stuff for them for relatively cheap. Cant do that for a car or motorcycle. THese bikes are awesome.
 
I've been using CST C1218 for 2 years. They come in red, blue, or black. Very durable inexpensive tire that resists flats.

I have over 2500 miles on my red ones and the rear still has about 75% of it's tread. The front doesn't show any wear at all.

For 26x2.125 tubes, I highly recommend Michelin Protek Max. They are hands down the best tubes I have ever used on 26", and I've put over 100,000 miles on 26" bikes.
