Well that is total bull ****.That bis right, the IGH is not the best for gears anyway.
You have to back off the gas to shift, and are easy to destroy if not taken care of, or done right.
Have you ever even rode a motorized IGH shifter Curtis?
I have, many of them and they hold up great and a sweet way to shift with power, far better than any multi-sprocket set up.
Another benefit of an IGH is a single sprocket to line up the chain travel with, hence no chain issues.
Disagree all you want but I build with the IGH hubs and don' have problems.
I have one of my last builds getting the wheels made and picking up the frame from the powder coaters right now.

A black cherry veined texture coated real GT gas tank frame, black spokes and rims, creme 2.25" tires, and a SA 5-speed internal shifter, disc brakes front and rear, etc.
You expect pics of that build to droll over soon enough ;-}
