Think your motorbike is fast?

How about 85.71 mph on a human powered bicycle? No electric or gas assist. Its just light and aerodynamic. I assume the Canadian rider was pretty fit, too. IMG images wouldn't attach.

I've watched a documentary on these guys before. There first gear is like the highest gear on a mountain bike. The gearings these guys have is insane then. Allowing for these crazy speeds with the lightness and aerodynamics combined it's crazy the speeds they go!

That's cool, but how do you see where you are going?

Does this mean we can get tires rated for 85mph? :D
Says he used a camera and monitor to see outside the body. Seems like a waste of weight. They could have easily built in a flush transparent 'windshield' but they're 'tech' orientated so they opted for a camera and a display. A thin sheet of thin clear acrylic would have worked just as well. Could have saved maybe a pound.

I think they avoided the transparent windshield in the body shell because it could be very dangerous if it fogged up (the driver is sweating like crazy in that aerodynamic body shell). The Spirit of Saint Louis used a periscope, rather than a camera in the first historic flight across the Atlantic.
