I recently bought a real MZ 65 exhaust pipe to put on a "race motor" I bought from California motorbikes (that ended up being a piece of garbage, )

And because of the quality of the parts that were used to put it together I have decided to take it off the bike and give it a once-over. But in the meantime I have decided to put my ld100 back on the bike until I get the other motor squared away.

And wow... The unmodified Ld 100 motor is way faster than the pk80 wildcat race motor that I bought from whatchamawhosits.

I never realized how much a tuned pipe can make a difference. Even if you just buy a knock-off it is definitely worth it and unlocks a whole new level of performance in these bikes

So in short, your second or third modification should be the MZ 65 after of course the CNC aluminum head to dissipate the heat that the efficiency of the MZ 65 will bring.

My ld100 rides like a different motor because of it.

The thing to be aware of is that it might not fit on all bicycle frames and May getting in the way of the pedals or the front wheel. This is a very very common problem with most people that purchase this without any knowledge of how they fit.

Mine barely fits on my ld100 without modification to the case strap and is almost touching the aluminum CNC head that I've placed on top.

The first and most important speed modification is an excellent duel wheel braking system. This should be done before any engine mods are done. Stopping is far more important than going fast.

Norm! Yes! I started with a 75 and dropped it down to 70 and that was worse and then I dropped it down to 68 and that wouldn't even run so I went back 78 and it's still a little sputtery so I'm guessing probably 80... Thank you for clarifying that.

First THIS, EXACTLY! But That pipe is incredible, it totally unlocks these engines. It's like riding a motorcycle now. I can't ever go back... All my bikes will have to have one now that I know.

I put this on most threads because I know you know. However, others are also reading our threads. All too often I see bikes capable of doing 45+ mph and only have a rear coaster brake on it. Even worse the person is wanting to know how to make it go even faster.

You are right Jerry, this is a MAJOR OVERSIGHT until it's too late.

Specifically The coaster brake mechanism, it has a DANGEROUS and largely unknown design flaw.

When the wheel is being driven forward by the motors chain, the spindle that the brake uses to cause it to bind upon itself to cause the bike to slow/stop, will strangely "buck" back against any pressure applied to the pedal in the braking direction .

This can throw you off the bike or cause you to lose control very quickly and un expectadly.

L.a. hover bikes on YouTube has a video where this happened to him while he was on a ride and it caused him to wreck. Luckily he was not in the way of any oncoming traffic.

According to our in-house mechanical genius and Paragon of knowledge, Norm from Venice Beach bikes, you can circumvent this by packing the heck out of the rear hub with grease and making sure the keeper nuts that keep the bearings in place, tighten down very well.

And of course nothing replaces treating these bikes with the respect that they're due. Always observe all laws, traffic and safety equipment. They are already looking for reasons to try to squash these two-stroke bikes let's not give them any more fuel for their fire.
