One of the head bolt rods for my engine is stripped and I cannot replace the bolt. I have an inch dye set so I am thinking I should take out the rod and rethread it. What other options do I have?

which end is stripped? if top, then it is either m8x1.0 or m8x1.25 - many h/w stores have threaded rod in those sizes that you can cut to fit (and usually what they sell is better steel than original)

if bottom, then you might need to work on the cases & maybe go to 3/8 inch or 5/16 depending how much metal is left

What I see in the picture looks like the top, if one striped chances are the other three are made of the same material so replacing all four would be best.

if you mean they broke thru and left crud inside, there's no easy fix and splitting cases and cleaning may not get all the little pieces that can trash a bearing - I'd save it for spare parts and get a new motor

heli-coil is easiest - tapping the hole larger to put in a brass bolt, then flattening the bolt and drilling and tapping that to original size is best, but harder
