wondering if anyone has thought of something like this

it floats on the chain and requires no mounting hardware on the bike so all it does is it stay close to were you put it, when you take off it should tighten the chain with the chain.
you could use roller blade wheels or small sprockets
thoughts?

Just ditch the tensioner and break the chain to the right size. I do like the concept though!

what if we combines a wheel or gear and tied them together with a strap and mounted them to this kind of mount?
