this is the stuff it's made with citronella and although it's for preventing animal attacks it stings like crap .
I found some fairly cheap on amazon per the picture

Take a look it's well worth it and completely legal

I don't think it has much range, but another thing you can legally carry is a "Nicorette Quick Mist" pump.. I grabbed on of those months ago in an attempt to gain control over my nicotine monkey. I found it too strong, but if you get that spray in the eyes you're in for a few minutes of misery. Trust me.
 
I prefer wasp and hornet spray myself. Good range so your well out of the little winged buggers grasp and it hits as a foam so you don't need to keep out of the cloud yourself. Better range as well as not having to worry about a breeze blowing the cloud away.

When it hits it sticks and if your adversary doesn't have wings they will attempt to wipe it off and that makes it even worse. Where ever you are it's legal as well. You are after all allergic to stinging insects aren't you.

Good one. My dad recently mentioned that to me, actually. He keeps a can of it in the bedroom "in case of a home invader".

The one we have got has a 12 foot range ,and it's very powerful ,check out the link to YouTube I posted it shows a good range
